Why cars are expensive

I found very interesting article about the question why cars are expensive. In a very simple way with an example this article is explaining the answer and I recommend to anybody to read and think about.

Basically instead to find out how to produce cheaper, safer and more clean cars, the big automakers are playing with the money of their shareholders, they are give a stupid assignments to their R&D departments and they do not provide any good service to the people who need a good cheap and affordable car.

What the big automakers are doing this days?

For example instead to take example from the Indian automotive giant Tata Motors Company and hear what are people needs they are pouring millions of dollars into some stupid projects like Electric Networked Vehicles (EN-V). This small vehicles will cost like normal car but they can carry only 2 passengers and the autonomy of this "cars" will be twenty five miles or thirty five kilometers.
